Located just a few miles south of Myrtle Beach, Pawleys Island is the laid back beach atmosphere you’ve been looking for. The biggest advantage of living in Pawleys Island is that you get to avoid the hustle and bustle of Highway 501 traffic in Myrtle Beach during the summer. This lowcountry favorite offers some of the best golf courses in the area, as well as some spectacular dining spots. Pawleys Island is also conveniently located to Georgetown (2o minute drive), Charleston (90 minutes) and Myrtle Beach (30 minutes).
Just south of the heart of Myrtle Beach, you will find the Market Common area right next to the Myrtle Beach International Airport. This upscale community is chock full of brand new homes, restaurants and shopping. Your grandchildren will LOVE running around at Savannah’s Playground, the southeast’s first enabling playground. If you enjoy going for long walks on the beach, you only have about a 5-10 minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean. You will pay a little bit more for the homes in this neighborhood compared to others in Myrtle Beach, but it’s definitely worth it.
If you are coming into town from the north, you will find yourself right at home in Carolina Forest. You will find more Yankees, Red Rox, Steelers and Patriots flags outside of homes than Clemson or South Carolina Gamecocks, and that says a lot! Carolina Forest is so popular because (1) the vast array of affordable homes and (2) the location. You can easily access Highway 501, Highway 17 or Highway 31 within minutes, taking you wherever you want to go along the Grand Strand. The Tanger Outlets on 501 will satisfy any shopaholic’s dreams and there are plenty of places to enjoy a night out.
